Godsent Saturday, April 11, 2009

That’s what my godson is.  Or that’s what his hugs and kisses are.  They single-handedly brought me back to life last night.  I owe you, B.

And then there are my Js.  John pulled out all the stops with his special ramen using homemade broth he spent 8+ hours making the night before topped with chunks of fresh crab, jumbo shrimp, chicken and a fried egg.  Janet threw in the champers.

There really is no place like home. <3

Last night was a blur.

But I managed to jumpstart this morning and stay alert and have lots of laughs throughout the day.

And with the weekend ahead, that is just one out of many reasons why today is (a) Good Friday.

Status Quo: Delayed EWA Monday, March 23, 2009

Filed under: Blah Blah Blahs, Booze, Friends, Photos, Status Quo — Ritzel @ 10:15 pm

And on this installment of Status Quo, Ritzel finally comes home after 3 consecutive days of wine “tasting” and experiences a delayed bit of EWA, otherwise known as End of the Weekend Anxiety.

That pretty much sums me and the current state of affairs to a tee.  But let me throw in some snapshots for color and good measure.

The Madonna Inn, an amazing hotel you have to see to believe.

Wine tasting at Barrel 27 puts a smile on your face as it delights your palate.

You don’t need to know how to swim to enjoy the pool.

99 bottles of beer (and wine) on the wall.

I really loved this winery.

I really love these girls.

And this sick bee is no exception.

The Best Friday, August 29, 2008

Filed under: Blah Blah Blahs, Booze, Food, Friends, Photos, The Grind, Travels — Ritzel @ 12:18 pm

I once admitted how when I type “Betsy” I usually type “Bets” only to mistype it as “Best.”  Well, here is “Best” magnified. Taken exactly one week ago (almost down to the minute), it captures some of the best things I find in life.  Good friends, like Betsy.  Being in New York!  Friday afternoons.  Friday afternoons not at work!  Gourmet cheeses.  Fine wine.  Easy conversation.  Laughs.

my NY equivalent to happy hour = afternnon not at work, with Betsy, fine wine and cheeses

Flavor of Love (Season 2)

I quit drinking beer some time ago. I will keep this in mind in case of future temptation. Flavor Flav and those girls…*cringe*
