When I went to take a break from color scales and this diptych composition, I turned around and found myself smiling at my desk.  It looks mighty fine dusted off and worked on.  I’m totally exhausted right now but feeling good my drafting table and I found a way back to each other.  I’m happy we’re both back to good use.

After a blink of an eye’s worth of sleep, I woke up to my workout playlist playing in the background. It was loud enough to seem more like foreground than background, hence waking me up.  Thanks, upbeat tracks for the downbeat that will essentially be me from 8 AM to 4:30 PM today.

Btw, if you have recommendations on other good beats to work out/run to, let me know.

Good morning, kids. And I do mean “good!”  I’m sitting here sipping on coffee while listening to some tunes (see Tape Deck) and taking time to enjoy the rarity of not needing to be anywhere or needing to do anything pressing anytime soon.  I’m giddy. I almost forgot what this was like.

But in a couple of hours, I’m off to pick up the cake I ordered, crossing my fingers it will look exactly the way I envisioned, then off to scoop up a couple dozen balloons, prop my party hat on and rush to my Russian celebrating her last day of her twenties.

So many pleasant things to think about. Why be bothered that my car won’t start again?

So I made a new playlist of songs I like under Tape Deck.  Minus Rachael Yamagata, it’s upbeat stuff, which is what I need.  But Elephants has a good message and I love Rachael and her show at The Troubador Saturday night made me very happy, so there.  Anyway, ramble, ramble.  Anything to avoid this paper.  A N Y T H I N G .  Help?
